So my group made two pitches for the group to present at the meeting with to discuss our Pitch. The first pitch includes 1. When the perfect girl with the perfect then has a problem from her past return to haunt her. The second pitch is A seemly average man gets abducted and forced into precarious situations which he discovers a family secret and seeks to escape. At the meeting both pitches were said to be very good which is great since it saves us time. However we were told that the first pitch gets done a lot so that to be careful when it comes to originality. But regardless, if we decided to do either or it wouldn’t matter because both have a pass from our advisor. The final one we went with was the second pitch since it was much more interesting and original to do.

Pitch Blog
A Hollywood term to describe an idea where a film is encapsulated in 25 words or less. Usually with one sentence. For the final task we were asked to create a pitch that we would like to do for a movie. The movie is the final project that will take up to two months to complete. We were also asked to avoid classic cliché openings for the two minutes so that it is more appealing. This is to help us create an opening to a movie that tells the story whilst not giving away entire theme.
Intro Blog
My name is Alyssa love and I’m a student at Fort Lauderdale High School. I’m currently a sophomore and I’m enrolled in the Aice media class. Some of my hobbies include drawing, painting, knitting. I do these whenever I have free time in my schedule which is hardly doable since I’m always busy. I enjoy watching anime and Korean dramas because they’re fun and entertaining to watch; they also make me really happy since they are so good. As for my group, I’m working in a group with 3 other people who’s names are Wayne, Sergio, and Ariel. We plan on working together to accomplish the last project for this class. For the last couple of days we have been listing and coming up with ideas that we could possibly use for our movie trailer yet we haven’t officially chosen.
Reflection Questions 12/16
1. Our product does not really use or challenge any conventions. It also does not discuss nor represent any social groups or issues
2. My product engages with the audience through humor. It contained many funny scenes that would get positive reactions from the viewers. It would be distributed as a CPR commercial if it were to be shown as real media. Since In the film the actors are performing CPR on a dummy it could be used as an example of what not to do if someone were in that current situation. It could also be used as a training video for people going into a field where CPR is a necessary technique to obtain
3. My production skills were developed because it taught me how to work under a time crunch. It also taught me how to improvise if I don’t have exactly what I need. Doing this project also helped me see what it was like working with many people at once since for this project more people were needed.
4. It this project I uploaded all of the video clips to my computer and edited out all of the scenes that were no longer needed or too unnecessarily long. I also used a different software than what I always use to edit this video since there was not enough time to wait and edit it. After trimming the individual clips short I put them all together and made it so they flowed together with ease. I also had to figure out how to download the wanted clip from YouTube and put it before the re-enactment scene.

Today was the final day to edit and make touch ups before it’s due tomorrow. It is not the best work that has been submitted by my group and I before but it will have to do. The acting for the film was really fast so it doesn’t exactly match the clip that was chosen. Some of the actors also forgot some of the lines of the actual scene and skipped the line all together. The reenactment scene is a lot shorter than the actual scene because of how rushed the entire film was. I’m kind of nervous for the entire class to see it only because I know that we can do better. I’m not proud at all of this particular piece but it’s too late to go back now. This was due to poor time management because there was not enough time to perfect each scene or go over lines that were given.

Okay so like I said filming went absolutely terrible and now there’s a huge problem. The film was rushed and totally unprofessional and not the best work that has been done by me and my group. Now we have to re shoot the film with hardly any time left. Not only is there more filming that needs to be done but there’s also editing. There’s no more time left to do it and it’s extremely nerve wracking. I’m not sure how this is going to turn out and it makes me sick to my stomach. There were plans made to film after school so that there is no separate scheduling that needs to be done but it’s still a small time frame to film an entire scene.
Progress Blog Update 12/6
Today was the first official day of filming and it was extremely stressful. Actors were needed to be found last minute so there were many complications with that. The film was completely disorganized and no one knew what they were supposed to do. It was poor planning on our part and the timing was the main problem. There was a small window of time that was given to film however not all of the actors made it at the same time but since they were the main characters of the show the film couldn’t go on without them. A large amount of time was wasted because of the waiting that was done so there was a big delay. To top it off no one actually knew their lines since this was so rushed and the air in the room was super tense. The film probably came out horribly because of how poorly executed the scene was and I’m not at all confident in our work. The extra actors that were asked to come to the project were not properly informed and showed up in the incorrect dress attire; so In the actual scene there is a mix of people wearing office clothes and the other half were wearing street clothes. In there was literally no other time to do the project because of the horrible time schedule this all had to be done in one shot. This was a bad filming experience and it has taught me that films should always be better executed and planned out so that everything can go smoothly.

Not much has updated since the storyboards were created. There has been a lot of problems regarding finding time to film because the scene is more difficult than thought to be. The scenes have props that are a little bit hard to recreate or find just in stores. There has also been trouble finding the time and place to film. The place that I had offered to film at might be more difficult to obtain than I thought because it doesn’t fit into the tight schedule that was given. There’s plans for filming on either Friday or Sunday but the scene needs to be shot in one go because there is not enough time for trial and error.

Today all that was done was that storyboards were created during the time that was given in class. The video was split into three different parts, each thirty seconds long so that it adds up to 1 minute and 30 seconds. Then the storyboard was drawn up based on whoever had a certain part. I had the beginning of the scene and I simply just redrew what was acted out in the video. Other than creating the storyboards, there was also discussion about props, location, people, and time. It has been decided that since the show that is being reenacted is in an office that it will be recorded in my mom’s office since that is the closest thing there is. A time nor what props that are going to be used have been chosen yet because a right time hasn’t been found and some of the props are hard to find. As for the people that are going to be in the actual scene, it has been decided that some friends of ours will help to make the scene seem even more realistic which is perfect since there are a lot of people in this scene. 🙂

We’ve finished up our music video project and now we’re starting a new one! For this project, we have to pick a scene from a TV show/ movie that’s about 1 minute 30 seconds long, and we have to re-create it as best as we can, and it can’t be a cartoon, anime, or any animation movies/ tv shows. Today, my group and I have decided on the TV scene that we’re going to do; a scene from the Office, and the scene is called “First Aid Fails”. We’ve already started planning on the location to film, who’s going to be in it, and the props needed. Next thing we need to do is create a story board, check out a camera, and then film.
