For the last couple of days the main focus was on editing the film on the editing software made available. While replaying the videos the audio was hard to hear over the wind so the audio had to be re-recorded on a separate file. Using the technique made it easier for the audio to just be added instead of having to record the scene over again. Some of the clips however weren’t useful and had to be redone in general since both the audio and the scene were bad. This set the scheduled finishing of the film back by a little since there was still some filming that needed to be done when the editing process was supposed to be in full effect. Filming any last pieces that needed to be done was a little difficult since the scenes don’t match up as well with the others. Editing didn’t go as smooth as preferred since the editing program is very slow and there is only a limited time that editing is allowed. It can only be done during school on the editing software that is provided and due to the fact that other students also need to edit, it is usually very cramped. One difficulty that occurred was getting the music file for the price is right tune to not overshadow the audio file. It took a while to find out how to turn down the music file below the attached audio but once it was finished it sounded. There are just a few more parts that need to be cut out and reedited and then the commercial will be finished and ready to be viewed.

Filming Process Part 3
On the second day of filming there was more time to expand on what was wanted to happen in the commercial. The weather conditions were perfect for the scene that would make the commercial seem more realistic and have more of an effect. It was very sunny, however it was very windy outside so the actors had to speak louder than usual to be heard over the wind. There was a lot of mistakes regarding which angle the scene should be shot at and how it should be done. Because of this, certain scenes had to be redone a numerous amount of time. It was also kind of hard to follow closely along with the storyboard due to the time restrictions that were given. This resulted in some scenes getting cut shorter or not put in at all. Filming took up a lot more time than expected since everything didn’t go as planned so it was good that it began as soon as possible. Having extra time to redo messed up shots really helped and allowed filming to finish earlier so that another day didn’t have to be wasted and the editing process could start immediately. For the next step in the commercial the editing will begin and the commercial will begin to be put together.
Commercial Filming Process Part 2
The first official day of filming was no where as easy as it was supposed to go. Not all of the props were brought for the film so it had to be worked around which proved to be very difficult. It took a while for things to get set up properly. The tripod that was given to the group wasn’t functioning correctly so it took a large amount of time to set up, taking away the time for the actual film. The actual filming part was very stressful since it was necessary to record around certain scenes. There were many mistakes made during the acting part since the script was mainly improvised and new things continued to be added in. Getting the actor comfortable in front of the camera so that the commercial looks more natural also proved to be a challenge. Since many mistakes were made throughout the recording process, it had to be redone multiple times. By the end, time had run out and there was still more to do so the day felt very unproductive. It was more of a test run as to what needed to be fixed for the next day of filming so that it would go more smoothly.
Pre-Commercial Filming Process
Today was the first step in the commercial making process, which included the storyboard, the script, and actors that were going to play a role in the commercial itself. They idea that was chosen was a simple Gatorade commercial that shows the hydrating effects of the nations favorite sports drink. Also, the school has a track outside that would be great for filming sporty activities on so it made the most sense and it wouldn’t be difficult to capture. I was in charge of the storyboard since I was deemed most artistic and creative when it comes to mapping out how the commercial would resemble as the finished product. Since the storyboard and the script go hand in hand they were done at the same time for the most accurate results. I sketched seven different panels that roughly explained what the commercial was going to look like by the end of filming. Coming up with lines for the actors to say however proved to be somewhat difficult. Some phrases made the commercial sound like cheesy 2000’s commercial, but luckily that cheesy effect was used as an advantage to make the audience find it more humorous. By the end of the class period it was decided on who was acting as who and who would bring what so that the filming process could go smoothly next class. Parts of the storyboard were not yet finished by the end of class so I took it home and tweaked some of the parts that weren’t perfect and labeled different things in the storyboard. These things included the actions that were being done and things that were going to be said just so I, and my group mates, could have a clear understanding of what would be happening.
Blog Introduction
My name is Alyssa Love and I’m 15 years old. I was born on October 10th, 2002 and I am Libra. One of my favorite hobbies is drawing and playing video games with my friends on the weekends. I had always loved to draw but I began to become more serious about in in the 8th grade. What inspired me to start taking my drawing passion more seriously is my love for anime and animation. Seeing my favorite animators making shows and doing what they love made me realize how much I treasure this talent. One day I hope I can become an anime artist and share my personal stories and characters with the world so that I can inspire other children to follow their dreams. Becoming an animator is one of my biggest dreams, I don’t really care about the money as long as I am happy with what I am doing. As for video games, I’m always playing my favorite game called Fortnite with my best friend on the PlayStation. As for music, my favorite genre is Kpop and my favorite band is BTS. They have dominated South Korea and are beginning to take over the US which I am really excited about. I have been in love with them since the 7th grade and I dream that one day I am able to see them in concert during one of their United States tour. My favorite subject us definitely science. Space has intrigued me since the 5th grade and I’ve wanted to be an astrophysicist from young. Galaxies and dark matter are so interesting to me and I just want to explore all of these inexplicable phenomenons.
